Myopia Management Options
Explore effective ways to slow myopia progression in children and teens
What Is Myopia Management?
Myopia, or nearsightedness, is a condition where distant objects appear blurry while near vision remains clear. It often starts in childhood and can worsen as the eye continues to grow, increasing the risk of future eye diseases.
Myopia management refers to a range of treatments designed to slow the progression of myopia in children and teens. These approaches go beyond simply correcting vision — they aim to reduce the rate at which the eye elongates, lowering the risk of long-term complications such as retinal detachment, glaucoma, and myopic maculopathy.

MiSight® Contact Lenses
MiSight® 1 day lenses are soft daily disposable contacts that both correct vision and help control myopia progression. Approved by the FDA for children aged 8 to 12, they are a proven and convenient option for managing myopia.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)
Ortho-K uses specially designed rigid contact lenses worn overnight to gently reshape the cornea. This provides clear vision during the day without glasses or contacts, while also helping to slow the progression of myopia.
Atropine Eye Drops
Low-dose atropine eye drops (typically 0.01%–0.05%) are used nightly to help slow down the progression of myopia. This treatment is easy to apply and has minimal side effects when prescribed at low concentrations.
